Does dutasteride lower the PSA level?

Yes. After a few months, dutasteride lowers the PSA level in the blood by about half. The PSA level is a marker used in prostate cancer screening. If you have such checks, you should tell the treating doctor that you are taking it; for assessment, the measured value is then usually doubled.
