Is the treatment prescription-only?

It depends on the active ingredient. Finasteride and oral minoxidil are prescription-only; you can only get them with a doctor's prescription. Topical minoxidil as a spray, by contrast, is available without a prescription and only available from a pharmacy. The prescription for the prescription-only ingredients is issued by a doctor after your answers from the health questionnaire have been reviewed. It is only issued if a therapy is medically suitable for you. A prescription is therefore never guaranteed.

How does the medical review work?

After the health questionnaire, a licensed doctor reviews your information on your hair situation, pre-existing conditions and medications. If a therapy is suitable, a prescription is issued If there are any questions, the doctor gets in touch with you If a therapy is not suitable, you receive a response with the reason The decision is always made by a person with a medical licence. A prescription is never guaranteed. The review is not a one-time step: it is repeated before each further delivery, so that your therapy remains regularly reviewed by a doctor.

Which pharmacy does my therapy come from?

Accepted Answer

If you wish, a German partner pharmacy handles the review, preparation and shipping of your medications. That way your therapy reaches your home without any detour. The partner pharmacy is an option, not a requirement. You can just as easily redeem your prescription at a pharmacy of your choice. Which pharmacy prepares your therapy remains your decision.

What is a follow-up prescription?

A follow-up prescription is the renewed medical approval for your resupply. So that your therapy continues without interruption, the doctor checks again before each further delivery whether the treatment remains suitable for you. We remind you in good time, so you don't have to keep track of the deadlines yourself. For the follow-up prescription too: the medical review decides, and continuation is not automatically guaranteed.

What happens if the doctor cannot treat me?

Accepted Answer

If a therapy is not medically suitable, no prescription is issued and you are not charged anything. You receive a response with the next steps. Depending on the situation, this may be a pointer to an in-person assessment or another route. That way you know where you stand, even if online therapy is not the right choice in your case.
